About Amadi
An Atlanta native, Amadi has been acting, singing, dancing, and songwriting since childhood. With over 10 years in the entertainment industry and both parents deeply rooted in the arts, she was introduced to theatre early and never looked back. By twelve years old, she had already made her Broadway debut.
Amadi's breakout came as Tomika in the hit Broadway musical School of Rock at the Winter Garden Theatre, where critics praised her as a "powerhouse diva" who left audiences cheering for more. Her performance earned her an invitation to the renowned Gypsy of the Year and led to singing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden before a New York Rangers and New York Islanders rivalry game.
She went on to star as Pepper in the LA Philharmonic's production of Annie at the Hollywood Bowl, directed by Tony-winning director Michael Arden, before landing the role of Chevon Redmond — one of four main characters — in Apple TV+'s Emmy award-winning series Ghostwriter across two seasons.
Amadi is currently writing and releasing new music while continuing to act, dance, and develop her craft.
My mommy (Zandra Hall) has been working in entertainment for 30 years. I remember she would bring me to all her rehearsals because she didn't have a babysitter. I loved watching my mom on stage. I don't think I ever fussed.
One day my mom and the director noticed I learned all the choreography of the show. From that day on she knew I had the bug too. She has sacrificed and she's fought for me and my dreams. I wouldn't be where I am without her. I thank Yahweh constantly for choosing her to be my mom. Fast forward to now, we're still marking our footprints in this industry.
My father (Arthur Chapata) has been making music for 20+ years. My crib was in the studio. I equally loved being in the studio the same way I loved being in that theater. He's taught me a lot about music. He even inspired me to learn how to play guitar — as well as being in a musical with kids who all knew at least one instrument. Fast forward now, my dad and I continue to produce music together.
